The Church of God of The Firstborn
God's Plan on Healing
One of the earliest promises made to man was healing!
Exodus 15:25-26 "And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which
when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a
statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them, 26-And said, If thou wilt diligently
hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and
wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these
diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that
God has promised to us health and happiness if we will do that which is right in his sight.
So there is something for you and I to do. We must give ear (listen) to his commandments
and keep all his statutes. Praise God! We can live a life without sickness or disease. God
can't lie. When I get sick myself I look back and see where I have done wrong and when I
make the wrong right then I am healed. Jesus gave his body to save fallen mankind from sin
and by his stripes we are healed. Praise God! Some may say that healing disappeared with
the Apostles but in reality it stayed with the Church for centuries even after the Apostles
went home to be with the Lord! Why isn't it being taught in the churches today?
Dear Brother, let's stop and look at the Church. Ungodly men, unbelievers, worldliness, etc.,
have crept into the church and crowded out the power of God. The church can't be blessed
with spiritual blessings until we Christians clean out the ungodly and unbelievers out of our
midst and just as important clean ourselves from any accursed thing in our lives.
Joshua 7:11-13 "Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I
commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and
dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff. 12-Therefore the children
of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies,
because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the
accursed from among you. 13-Up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against
to morrow: for thus saith the LORD God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst
of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed
thing from among you."
So you see we have something to do on our part. Let's preach and practice it. God will
then bless the Church again and give his preacher's and his people as believers the power
that he gave to the Apostles.
Mark 16:15-18"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to
every creature. 16-He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not
shall be damned. 17-And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they
cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18-They shall take up serpents; and if
they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they
This is called the Great Commission! Jesus gave this to his children with his Apostles as
chief witnesses to this great truth. Why don't the preachers practice these verses. Does
your preacher pray for the sick and do they get healed? If not there is something wrong.
These promises are to all of us.
Acts 2:39 "For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off,
even as many as the LORD our God shall call."
God has never called unbelievers to preach his gospel that would remain in unbelief. Neither
can we remain in unbelief after we hear what great things God has for us to do. Preachers
are commanded to preach the Gospel, not part of it, but all of it and that includes bodily
healing. We have to live the Gospel too. We can't change any part of the Bible to suit our
lives, but let's change our lives so the Gospel can work for us as it did in the days of old.
Let's learn to read and believe the whole Bible for it is the Truth. If we don't believe all of it
can we expect to go to heaven? No, we will never get there if we don't believe the whole
Bible which is Jesus in written form. If we don't believe in Jesus, so then we are out of the
will of God and on the road to destruction. It makes no different what you and I think about
it; we must come God's way to have success!
John 17:20 "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me
through their word;"
