THE TRUTH

"Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:  and
sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things
are now ready."  Found in Saint Luke 14:16, 17.

For nineteen hundred years the call has been going forth inviting whosoever will to
come.  Let's read on;

"And they all with one consent began to make excuse.  The first said unto him, I
have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it:  I pray thee have me
excused.  And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove
them:  I pray thee have me excused.  And another said, I have married a wife, and
therefore I cannot come."  Luke 14:18-20.

There is no excuse for so-called-christians to fall so easy for everything that comes along,
that it will cause them to backslide.  Some have one idol, some another, yet I have
notices that the most people fall from grace through their lust or love for money.  The
bible speaks so plainly that the love of money is the root of all evil.  Once that bitter root
is planted in us, then all manner of evil can befall us.  People of this sort are always first
to blame others for their mishaps but they never examine themselves.  They go right on
and pray and do just anything that they
feel is right, whether it is right or not, just
anything that comes along.  I do believe that the Lord requires us to give up all for him.
Why?  The Word of God says so:

"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and
children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my
disciple.  So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he
cannot be my disciple."  Luke 14:26, 33.

Let me picture to you what it means to forsake all for Jesus.  It means we must obey
what the Word of God tells for us to do above all other things we might want to do.  It
means putting Jesus first in our every-day lives no matter what anyone else says
contrary.  It means forsaking all our relation, all our family, all our property, all our
imaginations, all our ideas, all our good friends, all our cash money, all our want for
new cars, houses, or whatever would become our idol, all our feelings, and to put it
plainer all our life, and many more things I could mention.  These things, take notice is
why most of us are in the condition we are in.  Let us read on now and see what happens
to those people that always have excuses and blame others;

Luke 14:21-24, "So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things.  Then the
master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets
and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt,
and the blind.  And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and
yet there is room.  And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and
hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.  For I say unto
you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper."

Now let us read in Saint Luke 13:24-29 which is good to close with.  "Strive to enter
in at the strait gate:  for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be
able.  When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and
ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto
us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:  Then shall
ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in
our streets.  But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from
me, all ye workers of iniquity.  There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when
ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of
God, and you yourselves thrust out.  And they shall come from the east, and from
the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom
of God."

Sinner friends, sinner meaning you who do not obey the word of God, no matter what
church or denomination you belong to, if you are not saved from sin and you do not live
a holy every-day life, you are the one God is talking to when he said, "none of those men
which were bidden shall taste of my supper."  YOU are the one God means when he said,

"Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his
angels:"  Matthew 25:41.
